Background
SEI Investments is a financial firm that provides investment processing, investment management, and investment operations solutions. They wanted to reinvent the legacy advisor application and modernize the way the process the advisors use to engage with the clients.
MY ROle
As UX Designer Consultant I join the partnered with B.A. and another designer in three months envisioning project for the MM&T (Model Management and Trading Platform) and Client Portal side of an application. My role is to provide expertise in requirements capture by conducting design sprints, create a user-centric design, and construct the IA for further development. We had to ensure our design integrate with and build upon prior UX design efforts from the Client Acquisition and Review (CAR) initiative lead by another team.
Initial explorations & research
Personas:
In order to empathize with the different types of users, we developed so-called proto-personas, which are based purely on experience and assumptions. These serve as a starting point to reflect on the needs and challenges of the user and possible solutions that can be considered later in building the information architecture.
User journey: A product-based journey map helped to better understand the course phases as well as the user and their experience in them. The originally planned syllabus was greatly adapted as there were unnecessary and unfavorable steps coming to light.
